Delete your account

App: Pitta (com.pitta.app) · Developer: Pitta

You can delete your Pitta account yourself, from inside the app, at any time. It takes about fifteen seconds and nobody has to approve it.

From the app

  1. Open Pitta and go to Settings.
  2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
  3. Read what goes with it — the screen names any channel you own — then type DELETE and confirm.
Deleting is permanent. There is no recovery and no grace period. If you own a channel, that channel is deleted too — its followers, products, orders and website go with it. If you only want to stop hearing from a channel, unfollow it from its profile instead; it can no longer message you, and your account stays.

If you can't open the app

Lost the phone, or already uninstalled? Email hello@pitta.pro from any address with the phone number on the account. We verify it is yours by sending a one-time code to that number, then delete the account within 30 days — usually the same working day.

What is deleted, and what is kept

DataWhat happens
Your profile — name, photo, phone numberDeleted immediately
Chats and media with channelsDeleted immediately, on our servers and on your device
Follows, saved items, cart, poll votes, status viewsDeleted immediately
Devices and sign-in sessionsDeleted immediately; every signed-in device is signed out
Channels you ownDeleted immediately, with their followers, catalogue and website
Orders, bookings and gift-card purchasesKept by the shop, as placed. An order is the shop's invoice and its GST record, and it may still have a return or a dispute to settle on it — so the name, number and delivery address written on that order stay with the shop. Indian tax law requires a seller to keep these. Your Pitta account is gone; the shop's books are not rewritten.
Chat backups in your Google DriveNever ours to delete — they are in your own Drive. Remove them from Drive yourself.

Your phone number is released, so you can sign up again later and start fresh. Nothing from the old account comes back.

One exception

If you own a channel that has sold gift cards, the app will say so and stop, because those cards are live financial records that a shop cannot simply erase. Email hello@pitta.pro and we will close the account by hand.
